Donation of Circulators Worth 10 Million Won to Support Vulnerable Groups in Dongdaemun-gu Struggling with Summer Heat

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The Korea New Intellectuals Association and the Disabled Life Culture Association donated 104 circulators (worth 10 million KRW) to Dongdaemun-gu to help vulnerable groups struggling with the heatwave.

On the afternoon of the 30th, a handover ceremony was held at the Deputy Mayor's Office of Dongdaemun-gu Office. The donated circulators will be distributed to each neighborhood in Dongdaemun-gu and delivered to vulnerable groups in need of cooling supplies.

The Korea New Intellectuals Association was established in November 1999 and began discovering new intellectuals under the Ministry of the Interior and Safety since 2007. In January, it sponsored 104 bags of 10kg rice to Dongdaemun-gu, and in May and June, it sponsored 172 servings of chueotang (loach soup).

The Disabled Life Culture Association is an organization aimed at respecting life and preventing suicide through education and production of promotional materials related to respect for the lives of people with disabilities.

Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, expressed his gratitude, saying, “We thank the Korea New Intellectuals Association and the Disabled Life Culture Association for donating cooling supplies to vulnerable groups struggling with the heatwave amid the ongoing heat.” He added, “We will make sure to deliver these supplies as soon as possible to vulnerable groups going through difficult times due to the heatwave, so that the spirit of loving neighbors can be conveyed.”
