[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] Kim Woo-jin, the only remaining hope of the men's archery team, sailed smoothly toward the gold medal. Korean archery is three wins away from sweeping all events at the Olympics for two consecutive games.

On the 31st, at the Yumenoshima Park Archery Field in Tokyo, Japan, Kim Woo-jin defeated Khairul Mohammad (Malaysia) 6-0 (30-27 30-27 30-29) in the round of 16 of the men's individual archery event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, advancing to the quarterfinals.

Kim Woo-jin will compete against Tang Chih-chun (Taiwan) at 2:45 PM for a spot in the semifinals.

Having already swept four gold medals in the mixed team, men's and women's team, and women's individual events, Korea will achieve the feat of sweeping all events for two consecutive games following the 2016 Rio Olympics if Kim Woo-jin secures the fifth gold medal today.

Kim Woo-jin, who had a perfect 3-0 record against Mohammad in international competitions, took the first set by shooting three 10s, gaining a strong early lead. Kim Woo-jin shot nine 10s in total, finishing the match with a perfect victory.
