The Iraqi military stated in a press release that a helicopter conducting combat operations in the Ameli area north of the capital Baghdad crashed. The military did not disclose the cause of the helicopter crash in the statement.
Ameli, where the helicopter crashed, is known as a stronghold of IS remnants. A military official explained that numerous military operations to eliminate IS have been carried out in this area over the past several months.
