[Concall] LG Electronics, "MC Division Withdrawal... Operating Loss of About 1.3 Trillion Won in Suspension of Business in First Half"

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] On the afternoon of the 29th, during the 2021 Q2 earnings conference call, LG Electronics disclosed that the total operating loss from discontinued operations in the first half related to the withdrawal of the MC Business Division was approximately 1.3 trillion KRW.

LG Electronics stated, "The 1.3 trillion KRW operating loss from discontinued operations sufficiently includes costs for customer services such as future operating system (OS) upgrades and continued app service operations as part of customer care." They further explained, "Regarding withdrawal costs, operating losses of about 530 billion KRW occurred during the first half due to ongoing business activities, and excluding this, the pure withdrawal cost is approximately 770 billion KRW."
