[Asia Economy Reporter Kum Bo-ryeong] Kim Cheol-geun, Chief of Political Affairs for the People Power Party leader, criticized Jeong Cheong-rae, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, saying he "seems not to know what the Roh Moo-hyun spirit is."
On the 29th, Kim stated on Facebook, "Is it a taboo for the leader of the main opposition party to mention the 'Roh Moo-hyun spirit'?"
Earlier, Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, commented on the passage of the Media Arbitration Act through the National Assembly's Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee's bill subcommittee, saying, "Those who claim to be successors of Roh Moo-hyun are trying to reduce the freedom of media coverage and create a rigid media environment, which contradicts the Roh Moo-hyun spirit." In response, Representative Jeong warned, "Do not recklessly mention the Roh Moo-hyun spirit."
In response, Kim said, "I understand that 'a world without privileges and unfair advantages' is the core of the Roh Moo-hyun spirit," and pointed out, "The Democratic Party is trying to forcibly pass the 'Media Arbitration Act' using power and the logic of the number of lawmakers. Isn't this unfair advantage and privilege?"
Kim also questioned, "I want to ask if trying to create the worst of bad laws, including 'punitive damages,' is the Roh Moo-hyun spirit," and criticized, "I hope they abandon the idea of monopolizing something and offer criticism based on universal and reasonable thinking."
