[Asia Economy Reporter Na Ye-eun] Lawyer Yang, who was identified as a former cohabitant with Kim Gun-hee, the wife of former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, has revealed a dementia diagnosis certificate of his mother. The certificate states that Lawyer Yang's mother is in a state of "dementia due to Alzheimer's disease" and exhibits "memory loss and paranoid delusions."

On the 28th, Lawyer Yang expressed discomfort toward Open Sympathy TV in a statement, saying, "How cruel must one be to secretly interview a 94-year-old mother for several hours just to get the answers they want?"

He continued, "Breaking in with lies, leading questions to make my mother respond accordingly, and then talking about journalistic principles in such a disgraceful act?do you have any conscience at all?" He added, "I want to hold them accountable for causing my mother to collapse."

Earlier, pro-government YouTube media Open Sympathy TV and Gyeonggi Newspaper reporters reported the cohabitation rumor between Lawyer Yang, a former prosecutor, and Kim based on a face-to-face interview with Lawyer Yang's mother.

In response, Lawyer Yang denied on the previous day (27th), stating, "There was no private relationship with Kim," and claimed, "Open Sympathy TV and others approached my 94-year-old mother, who has dementia symptoms, with lies saying they came to have her fortune told, inserting leading questions to get the answers they wanted." After Open Sympathy TV insisted, "My mother's mind was clear. We don't understand why they are twisting her words into lies," and demanded the release of the diagnosis certificate without backing down, Lawyer Yang disclosed the actual certificate.

Lawyer Yang said, "I cannot tolerate the shamelessness of Open Sympathy TV reporter Kang and others, so I am issuing an additional statement," adding, "Do you have no mother? Reporter Kang and others must have known that my mother was incapable of normal conversation. Instead of reflecting and apologizing, they accuse me of lying by claiming my mother has dementia and demand the diagnosis certificate, so I reluctantly disclose the certificate and prescription."

He questioned, "No matter how fallen human ethics are, breaking into a home with lies, continuously leading questions to make my mother respond accordingly, and calling such disgraceful acts journalistic principles?do you have any conscience at all?" He also urged, "Since I have disclosed the diagnosis certificate and prescription as requested, they should kneel before my mother, apologize, and take responsibility."

Meanwhile, despite the release of the diagnosis certificate they demanded, Open Sympathy TV has yet to issue an apology. On the same day, Open Sympathy TV claimed via social media, "During the interview, we clearly identified ourselves as reporters to the mentally alert elderly mother, handed her a business card, and exchanged phone numbers."

On the 28th, the legal team of former Prosecutor General Yoon's camp filed a complaint with the Seocho Police Station against the representative and host of Open Sympathy TV, reporter Kang, and others for "trespassing and defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act." The legal team stated, "We judged that we could no longer tolerate criminal acts that spread unspeakable lies under the guise of verification, solely aiming for their political interests and broadcast profits."
