[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] The Kim Hak-bum-led team secured first place in Group B and advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating Honduras with a fiery offense that scored 6 goals. Hwang Ui-jo (Bordeaux), known as the 'God's Forward,' completed a hat-trick with 2 penalty kicks and 1 field goal.

The South Korean Olympic football team, led by coach Kim Hak-bum, achieved a 6-0 victory in the final Group B match of the Tokyo Olympics group stage against Honduras on the 28th at Yokohama International Stadium in Yokohama, Japan, with consecutive goals from Hwang Ui-jo, Seol Young-woo (Ulsan), Kim Jin-ya (Seoul), and Lee Kang-in (Valencia).

With this, South Korea recorded 2 wins and 1 loss (6 points) in Group B, securing first place in the group. This marks their third consecutive advancement to the quarterfinals in the Olympics (3rd place in 2012, quarterfinals in 2016).

In other Group B matches held on the same day, New Zealand (4 points, goal difference 0) drew with Romania (4 points, goal difference -3), securing second place in the group by goal difference and earning a ticket to the quarterfinals.

Notably, South Korea also wiped away the disappointment from the 2016 Rio Olympics quarterfinals, where they lost 0-1 to Honduras, after 5 years.

South Korea will compete for a spot in the semifinals against the second-place team from Group A at 6 PM on the 31st at Ibaraki Kashima Stadium.
