Majeyun, Head of Jeonnam Fire Headquarters, Encourages the '119 Water Rescue Team'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Ma Jaeyoon, head of the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters, visited the ‘119 Water Rescue Team’ responsible for the safety of vacationers visiting beaches and valleys during the summer holiday season to encourage them.

According to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters on the 28th, Director Ma visited Wando Myeongsashilli Beach on the same day to encourage the ‘119 Water Rescue Team’ workers, listen to their difficulties, and conduct on-site safety inspections including COVID-19 quarantine measures.

Wando Myeongsashilli Beach is a representative summer resort in Jeonnam visited by more than one million tourists every year, where various water-related safety accidents frequently occur.

Jeonnam Fire operates the ‘119 Water Rescue Team’ at 30 locations including beaches in the jurisdiction until next month, and is conducting water safety assurance, first aid, and safety accident prevention campaigns together.

At 15 representative summer resorts in Jeonnam, including Myeongsashilli Beach, firefighting forces are permanently deployed, and the remaining 15 locations are patrolled twice a day to ensure the safety of vacationers.

Director Ma said, “I thank the members who work hard for the safe and enjoyable summer vacation of the residents despite the hot weather,” and added, “Please actively guide vacationers to comply with social distancing in daily life and water safety rules to do your best to prevent safety accidents.”
