[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Lee Da-bin (25, Seoul City Hall) advanced to the semifinals in the women's over 67kg taekwondo category at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, aiming for a medal.

On the 27th, at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, Lee Da-bin defeated Katherine Rodriguez Peguero of the Dominican Republic 23-14 in the quarterfinals of the women's over 67kg taekwondo event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, securing her place in the semifinals.

Lee Da-bin took an aggressive approach from the first round. She succeeded with spinning and head attacks, finishing the first round 15-10. Continuing her offensive momentum in the second and third rounds, Lee Da-bin confirmed her advancement to the semifinals with a final score of 23-14.

Korean taekwondo has so far earned only one bronze medal. The last hopes for a gold medal rest on Lee Da-bin and In Gyo-don (29, Korea Gas Corporation), who is competing in the men's over 80kg category.
