Jeonju City announced on the 27th that the 'Ordinance on the Promotion and Support of Healing Agriculture in Jeonju City' recently passed the Jeonju City Council.
The ordinance includes provisions on establishing a basic plan for fostering healing agriculture, creating a foundation for healing agriculture, supporting healing service projects, and the establishment and operation of a committee.
Jeonju City plans to first collaborate with the Rural Development Administration and the Jeonju City Office of Education Wee Center to conduct a 'Healing Agriculture Program for Enhancing Youth Self-Esteem' 12 times by next month at 'Rainbow Farm,' a healing farm located in Yongjeong-dong.
From October to December, a healing program will be operated at Rainbow Farm for 10 families of elderly dementia patients, and from next month to November, a healing program will be conducted with 10 alternative school students in the Nosong-dong area.
Above all, the city plans to increase the number of healing farms from the current one to five by 2025 and strengthen the operation of customized programs, accelerating systematic development.
An official from the Jeonju Agricultural Technology Center said, "With the enactment of this ordinance, the healing agriculture promotion projects that Jeonju City has been pursuing will gain more momentum," adding, "We will do our best to create a healthy local community by establishing a foundation for the development of healing agriculture and activating healing agriculture programs."
