Jeonbuk Autonomous Police Committee Holds 1st Working-Level Council Meeting

Discussion on Three Agenda Items Including Comprehensive Child Safety Measures

The Jeonbuk Autonomous Police Committee held its 1st Working Council Meeting on the 27th and discussed three agenda items, including comprehensive measures for child safety.

[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Han-ho] The Jeonbuk Autonomous Police Committee (Chairman Lee Hyung-gyu) held the 1st Practical Council Meeting on the 27th and discussed three agenda items: the comprehensive child safety measures, strengthening protection measures for intoxicated individuals, and measures to prevent voice phishing damage, which is the first autonomous police policy.

The Jeonbuk Autonomous Police Committee agreed to devise safety measures in five living areas by analyzing the 24-hour life cycle of children: △home △school △outside school △commuting routes △neighborhood.

Regarding the strengthening of protection measures for intoxicated individuals, the province and the National Police Agency agreed to discuss budget support plans for police officers stationed at emergency medical centers.

Additionally, they discussed ways to focus publicity on vulnerable groups about recent methods and types of damage caused by telephone financial fraud, and agreed that the public, private, and police sectors will build a cooperative system to continuously collaborate in preventing telephone financial fraud.

Chairman Lee Hyung-gyu said, “Unlike other cities and provinces, the Jeonbuk Autonomous Police Practical Council operates as a ‘participatory’ body guaranteeing residents’ participation, so we will seriously listen to residents’ opinions and unite the capabilities of related organizations for residents’ safety.”

Meanwhile, unlike other cities and provinces where the practical council is mainly operated by the police, local governments, and education offices, the Jeonbuk Autonomous Police Committee’s practical council is the first nationwide to include appointed members such as experts in women and youth, child abuse, school violence, socially vulnerable groups including the elderly and disabled, traffic safety, autonomous crime prevention, human rights, and field police officers.
