[AK Survey] Lee Jae-myung Leads Yoon Seok-youl Again... 4.3%p Difference

Asia Economy commissioned Win-G Korea Consulting to conduct a public opinion survey from the 24th to the 25th targeting 1,008 voters nationwide aged 18 and over (100% mobile phone virtual numbers, automated response). As a result, Lee's approval rating recorded 28.6%, surpassing Yoon's 24.3% within the margin of error. Compared to the previous survey conducted by Asia Economy and Win-G Korea Consulting on the 10th and 11th (targeting 1,011 voters nationwide aged 18 and over, with a sampling error of ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level, 100% mobile phone virtual numbers via wireless ARS), Lee's approval rating rose by 2.8 percentage points, while Yoon's dropped by 2.1 percentage points.

Thus, Lee, who was trailing Yoon by 0.6 percentage points in the previous survey, is now ahead by 4.3 percentage points in this survey.

What draws attention is the downward trend in Yoon's approval rating. Since recording 33.3% in the survey conducted on the 12th and 13th of last month, Yoon's approval rating has consistently declined. Each repeated survey showed a downward trend in Yoon's approval rating.

Lee Nak-yeon, former leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, whose approval rating showed a surprising increase of 6.9 percentage points in the previous survey, rose by 0.5 percentage points to 16.9% in this survey. Following him were former Board of Audit and Inspection Chairman Choi Jae-hyung (5.9%), People Power Party lawmaker Hong Joon-pyo (5.0%), and former Minister of Justice Chu Mi-ae (3.4%) in that order.

Among supporters of the Democratic Party and the People Power Party, Lee and Yoon's support was overwhelming. It confirms that Lee and Yoon have established themselves as the leading candidates of their respective parties. Among Democratic Party supporters, 51.4% expressed support for Lee. Next were former leader Lee Nak-yeon (34.1%), former Minister Chu Mi-ae (4.0%), Yoon (2.8%), and former Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun (2.3%). Among People Power Party supporters, 51.8% supported Yoon. Following were former Chairman Choi (11.9%), lawmaker Hong (11.8%), former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min (5.2%), and Lee (4.1%).
