The men's archery team defeated Taiwan to claim the gold medal in the team event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. They achieved back-to-back team event victories following the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

Composed of Oh Jin-hyek (Hyundai Steel), Kim Woo-jin (Cheongju City Hall), and Kim Je-deok (Gyeongbuk Ilgo), the men's team defeated Taiwan, which consisted of Deng Yu-cheng, Tang Chih-chun, and Wei Chun-heng, with a set score of 3-0 in the men's team final held on the 26th at the Yumenoshima Park Archery Field in Tokyo, Japan. With this, Korean archery secured three gold medals in mixed team, women's team, and now men's team events. If they also win gold in the men's and women's individual events, they will achieve the feat of sweeping all events for two consecutive Olympic Games.

This is the sixth time Korean archery has won the Olympic men's team event. Previously, they topped the podium at the 1998 Seoul Games (Park Sung-soo, Jeon In-soo, Lee Han-seop), 2000 Sydney Games (Oh Gyo-moon, Jang Yong-ho, Kim Cheong-tae), 2004 Athens Games (Park Kyung-mo, Jang Yong-ho, Lim Dong-hyun), 2008 Beijing Games (Lim Dong-hyun, Lee Chang-hwan, Park Kyung-mo), and 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games (Kim Woo-jin, Koo Bon-chan, Lee Seung-yun). With this victory, Kim Woo-jin became the fourth archer, after Park Kyung-mo, Jang Yong-ho, and Lim Dong-hyun, to win two Olympic team event gold medals.

The team showed remarkable performance from the first set (59-55). Except for one arrow scoring 9 points, five arrows hit the 10-point mark. The momentum continued in the second set (60-58). Although the Taiwanese archers scored a combined 58 points first, the Korean team remained unfazed and shot all arrows into the 10-point zone. In the third set (56-55), with the score tied at 27-27, Kim Woo-jin scored 9 points. Then, Kim Je-deok and Oh Jin-hyek, standing at the shooting line, consecutively shot 10 points to seal the victory.

Meanwhile, in the bronze medal match held earlier, Japan defeated the Netherlands in a shoot-off to claim the bronze medal.
