Plans to Expand to Other Domestic Airports in the Future
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] Korea Airports Corporation announced on the 26th that it will pilot the 'Luggage Delivery Service' for passengers using the Gimpo~Jeju Airport route. The luggage delivery service allows passengers to check in their luggage at the departure airport and receive it at their accommodation at the destination.
The luggage delivery service offers the advantage of enabling 'hands-free travel' by allowing travelers to skip the crowded baggage claim area at the arrival airport and enjoy their trip immediately. Six airlines are participating in this service: Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Jeju Air, Jin Air, Air Busan, and Air Seoul.
Under this pilot operation, passengers departing from Gimpo Airport and arriving at Jeju Airport can use this service by making a reservation through the mobile application or website of the service operator, Jimcarry Co., Ltd., starting from today. The usage fee is 15,000 KRW for a travel suitcase and 20,000 KRW for a golf bag.
Meanwhile, Korea Airports Corporation plans to expand this service to other domestic airports after the pilot period on the Gimpo-Jeju route.
