[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] The Korean baseball team participating in the Tokyo Olympics breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing that the injuries of key players Oh Ji-hwan and Heo Kyung-min were not serious.

A KBO official said on the 25th at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, ahead of the national team evaluation match against the Kiwoom Heroes, "Oh Ji-hwan received five stitches," and "He is participating in training normally." Regarding Heo Kyung-min, who was hit on the thigh by a pitch, the official stated, "There is no major problem."

Shortstop Oh Ji-hwan was cut near his left neck by an opponent's spike while tagging Chae Eun-seong during a head-first slide to second base in the top of the 6th inning in the evaluation match against the LG Twins the previous day. Oh Ji-hwan was immediately taken to the hospital for suturing treatment.

Third baseman Heo Kyung-min was hit on the calf by a pitch thrown by opposing pitcher Lee Sang-gyu in the bottom of the 5th inning and was substituted.
