[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] With the peak summer vacation season underway, the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters has intensified on-site safety inspections at local water recreation spots.
Jeonnam Fire announced on the 25th that on the 23rd, they conducted on-site inspections by visiting major water recreation areas in the province, including Boseong Yulpo Beach.
Through this inspection, they checked the working conditions and equipment of the 119 water rescue teams operating at 30 major water recreation sites such as beaches and valleys across the province.
They also confirmed necessary measures at the sites, including the removal of potential hazards in advance to protect vacationers' lives and safety, and the reinforcement of quarantine supplies for on-site personnel in response to the rapid spread of COVID-19.
Ma Jaeyoon, head of Jeonnam Fire Headquarters, stated, “We will do our utmost to prevent any casualties by deploying fixed personnel at local resorts and strengthening patrols with proactive measures, and we will also ensure there are no gaps in quarantine management.”
Meanwhile, the 119 water rescue teams, operating until the 31st of next month, have deployed 126 personnel including firefighters and civilian volunteers to carry out preventive patrols, initial life rescues, and emergency treatment.
Last year, the 119 water rescue teams saved seven lives and carried out approximately 940 safety measures.
