Compared to the same time frame, this is 2 more than the previous day (23rd) with 408 cases, and 51 more than last Saturday (17th) with 359 cases. The total number of cases for the entire day was 465 on the 23rd and 523 on the 17th.
The daily number of confirmed cases in Seoul rose to the 300s at the end of last month. Since then, this month alone, the highest number of cases was recorded twice: 583 on the 6th and 638 on the 13th. Recently, the number of confirmed cases has been fluctuating around 500 per day.
In Seoul, the average daily number of confirmed cases over the past fifteen days (9th to 23rd) was 503. The average number of tests conducted per day was 68,084. During this period, the daily positivity rate (number of confirmed cases on the day compared to the number of tests conducted the previous day) ranged from 0.6% to 1.2%, with an average of around 0.7%.
Among the new confirmed cases testing positive in Seoul on this day, 7 were imported cases, and the remaining 403 were domestic infections. New confirmed cases from major cluster infections include 5 from a sauna in Gwanak-gu (occurred in July), 3 from the Kwangwoon University and Yonsei University ice hockey teams who played a practice match in Gangneung, Gangwon Province, 2 from a logistics center in Songpa-gu (occurred in July), and 2 from a middle school in Dongjak-gu. An additional 22 cases were linked to other cluster infections.
The cumulative number of confirmed cases in Seoul from ongoing major cluster infections are 152 from the sauna in Gwanak-gu (occurred in July), 35 from the Kwangwoon University and Yonsei University ice hockey teams who played a practice match in Gangneung, Gangwon Province, 23 from the logistics center in Songpa-gu (occurred in July), and 15 from the middle school in Dongjak-gu.
Meanwhile, as of 6 p.m. on this day, the cumulative number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in Seoul was tentatively counted at 61,538. Among them, 7,545 are currently in isolation treatment, and 53,464 have been declared recovered. The number of deaths among confirmed cases in Seoul increased by 1 during the recent 18 hours, bringing the cumulative total to 529.
