Korean archery representatives Kim Je-deok (Gyeongbuk Ilgo) and An San (Gwangju Women's University) defeated the Indian pair Pravin Jadhav and Deepika Kumari 6-2 (35-32 38-37 35-37 36-33) in the mixed team quarterfinals held on the 24th at the Yumenoshima Park Archery Field in Tokyo, Japan. The mixed team event was introduced for the first time in this competition.

Kim Je-deok and An San will face the Mexican duo Luis Alvarez and Alejandra Valencia, who advanced by defeating Great Britain 6-0, in the semifinals at 3:31 PM. A victory will guarantee them at least a silver medal.

With the 2nd seed United States and 3rd seed Japan, both initially expected to reach the finals from the opposite side of the bracket, being eliminated early in the round of 16, the possibility of Kim Je-deok and An San winning the gold medal has increased.
