Heal Your Corona Blue at the Neighborhood Learning Center~~~

Dongdaemun-gu Provides Online Educational Programs for Residents Weary from Heatwave and COVID-19

Heal Your Corona Blue at the Neighborhood Learning Center~~~ 2021 Jeonnong 2-dong Neighborhood Learning Center 'Our Alcohol Humanities' Online Demonstration Lecture

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor You Deok-yeol) is conducting various neighborhood learning center programs online for residents who find face-to-face learning difficult due to COVID-19.

The district has been operating neighborhood learning centers since 2019, and this year, with the operation of one learning center per neighborhood, it has thoroughly prepared a more detailed lifelong learning network so that residents eager to learn can engage in lifelong learning from home. As the number of neighborhood learning centers has increased, the online programs are also being offered more diversely.

In August, to reduce stress caused by the heat and staying at home, various practical programs have been prepared, including ▲ Organizing and tidying up our home to feel cooler in the hot summer ▲ Elegant gift wrapping, Bojagi art ▲ Easy beginner watercolor painting ▲ Beginner blog marketing and smart store ▲ Low-carbon footprint: transformation of coffee sacks ▲ Environmental healing - making natural products (natural loofah scrub soap making).

Neighborhood learning centers are open to all Dongdaemun-gu residents and are free of charge, though some programs may require personal materials or fees for supplies.

Applications for August neighborhood learning center courses start from July 26 and can be made on the Dongdaemun-gu Lifelong Learning Center website (Program Registration → Neighborhood Learning Center).

For more details regarding the operation of neighborhood learning centers, inquiries can be made to the Education Support Division of Dongdaemun-gu Office.

You Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, “Despite the difficulty of face-to-face education due to COVID-19, we have prepared online neighborhood learning center programs for residents full of enthusiasm for education,” and added, “As the importance of online non-face-to-face education grows, we will continue to strive to prepare more diverse programs.”
