[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Tae-min] Female judo national team member Kang Yoo-jung (Suncheon City Hall), who showed a 'shaved head fighting spirit' to pass the weigh-in, unfortunately failed in her medal challenge.

On the 24th, Kang Yoo-jung lost in the round of 32 to Stangar Marusa (Slovenia) in the women's 48kg judo event at the Nippon Budokan in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan, during the Tokyo Olympics.

She started smoothly by scoring a waza-ari with a seoi-otoshi just 27 seconds after the match began, but was defeated disappointingly after conceding an osaekomi-waza ippon.

Prior to the official weigh-in the day before, Kang Yoo-jung shaved her head white to strengthen her fighting spirit in order to pass the weigh-in.
