[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Tae-min] Shooting national representatives Park Hee-moon (20, Woori Bank) and Kwon Eun-ji (19, Uljin County Office) advanced to the finals by finishing 2nd and 4th respectively in the women's 10m air rifle qualification held on the 24th at the Asaka Shooting Range in Tokyo, Japan. The top 8 players from the qualification advance to the finals.


The 10m air rifle qualification consists of a total of 6 series. Each series has 10 shots, totaling 60 shots, and rankings are determined by the total score. Park Hee-moon scored a total of 631.7 points in 6 series (60 shots, perfect score 654 points), and Kwon Eun-ji recorded a total of 630.9 points.


Dustad Hegg (Norway), who advanced to the finals in 1st place, set a new Olympic record with a total score of 632.9 points.


The women's 10m air rifle is the first event with medals at this competition. If either Park Hee-moon or Kwon Eun-ji wins a medal, Korean shooting will have its first female air rifle Olympic medalist in 21 years since Kang Cho-hyun at the 2000 Sydney Games.
