Tokyo Olympic Baseball National Team Support Event to Cheer for Success

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] Shinhan Bank announced on the 23rd that it will hold a fan participation event at the metaverse stadium ‘Shinhan SOL Baseball Park’ to support the success of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic baseball national team.

Shinhan Bank opened a metaverse baseball stadium on its own platform and invited 20,000 baseball fans who cannot attend the Olympic baseball national team evaluation match in person. This event will start at 4 PM on the 24th, one hour before the evaluation match against the LG Twins, and will last for 40 minutes until the game begins.

The first part, a 20-minute individual competition starting at 4 PM, is a game where participants roam the metaverse baseball stadium to collect items such as bats and gloves to earn points and receive a signed ball from the national team. Following this, participants will be divided into two teams to compete in baseball quizzes and survival games, with various prizes such as chicken, coffee, and My Shinhan Points awarded to the winning team in the second part, the team competition.

Event participation applications can be made through the ‘Pre-registration! Shinhan SOL Baseball Park Opening’ banner on Shinhan SOL Baseball, and by clicking the URL in the event invitation message sent before the event starts on the 24th, participants can enter the metaverse stadium. Even those without a Shinhan Bank account can apply for the event by simply signing up as a Shinhan SOL member.

Due to restrictions on spectator attendance at the evaluation match, Shinhan Bank created the ‘Baseball Park’ on its own platform to communicate with baseball fans and cheer together in the metaverse. The bank plans to provide baseball fans with more fun and new experiences beyond visiting the stadium in person by holding fan meetings where fans and players interact, group cheering using real-time text messages, and events based on real-time game records.

Shinhan Bank signed a sponsorship contract with the KBO (Korea Baseball Organization) for the Olympic baseball national team evaluation matches starting on the 23rd and confirmed the official tournament name as ‘Shinhan Bank SOL Baseball National Team Evaluation Match.’ The evaluation matches will be held three times against Sangmu on the 23rd, LG Twins on the 24th, and Kiwoom Heroes on the 25th.
