Samjeong KPMG Publishes Customized ESG Guidebook for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises

[Asia Economy Reporter Ji-hwan Park] Samjong KPMG announced on the 21st that it has published the booklet "Easy-to-Understand ESG for CEOs of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and Mid-sized Companies" in collaboration with the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

This guidebook was prepared to support the prompt response of domestic SMEs and mid-sized companies amid the global spread of the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management paradigm.

In particular, it contains various information to enhance the understanding of companies preparing for ESG management, such as the meaning and background of ESG, major ESG disclosure guidelines, and cases of global leading companies. It is analyzed that this will provide practical help in establishing ESG management strategies for SMEs and mid-sized companies, which face more difficulties in ESG management compared to large corporations.

Jung-nam Kim, leader of the ESG Strategy Team at Samjong KPMG, stated, "ESG is expected to affect investments and loans from pension funds and financial companies, as well as the management of partner companies by large corporations, making it an issue directly related to the survival of SMEs and mid-sized companies. We hope that SMEs and mid-sized companies will effectively promote ESG management and secure competitiveness in the rapidly changing business environment."

The newly released guidebook can be downloaded for free from the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry website. The booklet will also be distributed through 73 chambers of commerce and industry nationwide.
