Seoul City Holds Urban Redevelopment Committee Meeting and Approves Revised Amendment
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] The church site within the Hwikyung 2 Redevelopment Promotion Zone located in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, has been designated for additional neighborhood living facility use.
On the 20th, Seoul held the 6th Urban Redevelopment Committee meeting and approved the amendment to the "Hwikyung 2 Redevelopment Promotion Plan," according to an announcement on the 21st.
Among the redevelopment promotion districts of Imun and Hwikyung, Hwikyung 2 Zone currently has Hwikyung SK View fully occupied.
The site was originally designated as a religious facility land as a replacement site for the existing church, but the church cashed out and left the land unused. It remained vacant, making it difficult to dissolve the association.
Accordingly, the city changed the land use to neighborhood living facilities and religious assembly halls to enable efficient use of the land. Additionally, the main use of the site was planned as a religious assembly hall to align with the original intent of the religious facility plan.
