[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] Yozma Group Korea, an Israel-based global venture investment firm, is filing a damages lawsuit against JTBC in a U.S. court. On the 19th, Yozma Korea announced, "Following an urgent directive from the global board of directors, we have decisively decided to prepare a damages claim lawsuit with Yozma Group in the United States."
Earlier, on the 6th, JTBC raised suspicions regarding Busan Mayor Park Hyung-jun's connection to the Yozma Fund during its main news program 'Newsroom,' reporting that Yozma Group is essentially a ghost company without a real entity. JTBC stated that when they called the Israel Yozma Group headquarters, they received a message that the number did not exist, and the location had only a signboard while another company was occupying the premises.
A representative from Yozma Group's legal team explained, "The false reports by JTBC originating from Korea are causing damage even to the IR of a Nasdaq-listed company in which our firm has invested in the U.S." They added, "Until JTBC takes immediate remedial actions to restore the damage, we intend to seek compensation for the accumulating losses through all possible lawsuits within the United States to protect our investors."
On the 16th, Yozma Korea also filed a 10 billion KRW damages lawsuit against JTBC at the Seoul Central District Court. It is reported that Yozma Korea plans to pursue additional criminal lawsuits against the JTBC production team.
