[Asia Economy Reporter Sunmi Park] KB Financial Group announced on the 19th that it has signed a business agreement with Hanyang University to establish an industry-academia cooperation education platform aimed at advancing into the 'Number One Financial Platform.'

The signing ceremony, held remotely on the 16th, was attended by key officials from both organizations, including Hur Yin, Head of Digital Innovation Division at KB Financial Group and CEO of KB Kookmin Bank, and Kim Woo-seung, President of Hanyang University. KB Financial and Hanyang University plan to build a close cooperative system through IC-PBL (Industry-Coupled Project-Based Learning), an industry-academia collaboration program where students derive solutions to corporate and social issues through cooperation between companies and schools.

Through this agreement, KB Financial will support the development and operation of Hanyang University's IC-PBL courses to help cultivate talent tailored to corporate needs, while Hanyang University will have professors and students jointly propose ideas focused on providing new value and experiences for KB Financial customers.

Based on the industry-academia cooperation with Hanyang University, KB Financial plans to accelerate its leap toward becoming the 'Number One Financial Platform' that offers benefits, convenience, and enjoyment to customers. Students participating in Hanyang University's IC-PBL program will research digital marketing strategies of KB Financial and specialized service operation plans for customers in their 20s. KB Financial will assist students' research by providing feedback from practitioners on their ideas and will also offer incentives such as awards for outstanding research proposals.

Hur Yin, CEO of KB Kookmin Bank, stated, “In an era of change where open innovation and convergence are accelerating, it is more important than ever for universities and companies to pool their wisdom.” He added, “Opening courses on real business issues and integrating students' creative ideas is expected to serve as a stepping stone to advancing into the Number One Financial Platform.”
