[Asia Economy Online Issue Team] Actress Choi Jung-won revealed her recent condition, having undergone glaucoma surgery following a hysterectomy.
On the 18th, the 40-year veteran actress Choi Jung-won appeared on Channel A's 'Sanjeonsujeon Yeogodongchalsaeng' and became a hot topic.
When asked, "Why did you come here at such a lively age?" Choi said, "My smile isn't really a smile. I think a crisis has come in my life," opening up about her pain.
She revealed, "I had my uterus removed four years ago, but then problems arose with my ovaries, so I had them removed as well." She added, "I should have started hormone therapy immediately, but I was ignorant and didn't know at the time," and said, "After not receiving hormone therapy for four years, I developed glaucoma."
Choi Jung-won said, "Because of glaucoma, I go for check-ups every six months," and expressed regret, saying, "There is no cornea left to shave. My eyes cannot undergo surgery."
She continued, tearing up, "I'm like this in my 50s, and when I think about whether I'll be able to see or walk in my 60s, it breaks my heart."
