"Got vaccinated to live..." 30s teacher falls into coma after Janssen vaccination

[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Sumi] A man in his 30s who received the COVID-19 Janssen vaccine fell into a coma 25 days after vaccination, prompting a Blue House petition demanding a prompt causality verification from the government and vaccination authorities.

On the 16th, a post titled "Please promptly review the suspected causality of side effects from the COVID-19 Janssen vaccine" was uploaded to the Blue House petition board. The author, Mr. A, introduced himself as the father of teacher Mr. B (34), who fell into a coma.

Mr. A stated, "After receiving the COVID-19 Janssen vaccine, my son collapsed due to a cerebral infarction caused by a blood clot and has been in a coma in the intensive care unit for 11 days without waking up."

According to Mr. A, his son Mr. B received the Janssen vaccine on the morning of the 11th of last month and collapsed on the afternoon of the 6th, the 25th day after vaccination. Mr. B was immediately transported to a nearby university hospital emergency room and underwent emergency treatment within 40 minutes for suspected cerebral infarction but fell into a coma and has not yet regained consciousness.

On the 11th, the fifth day of hospitalization, medical staff reportedly informed the family that "the patient's brain is extensively damaged and has almost lost function, and recovery is impossible without a miracle from God," adding that "brain swelling causing increased intracranial pressure could lead to death."

In response, Mr. A said, "It is a devastating diagnosis. It feels like the sky is falling and the ground is collapsing," and added, "I asked the hospital about the cause out of frustration, but I have not received a clear answer."

The father, Mr. A, described his son's health condition, saying, "He never drank alcohol or smoked, and he was a very healthy young man who consistently maintained his fitness through systematic exercise at the gym," and explained, "He had no hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, obesity, or any underlying diseases that could cause cerebral infarction."

He continued, "A healthy young man is now in a brain-dead state due to acute cerebral infarction caused by a blood clot after vaccination," and urged, "I request the authorities to conduct a prompt epidemiological investigation and causality verification so that my son can be comfortably sustained."

Mr. A requested the hospital to report the adverse reaction to the COVID-19 vaccine, and it is understood that this has been submitted to the authorities.
