"Democratic Party Should Expand Support Measures for Self-Employed Before Chasing Disaster Relief Votes"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol dismissed the Ministry of Justice's announcement that there were illegal practices in the investigation of former Prime Minister Han Myeong-sook as "saving Han Myeong-sook."
On the 15th, former Prosecutor General Yoon stated on his Facebook, "The Supreme Court also saw no problems in the investigation process and confirmed the guilty verdict on illegal political funds through a full bench," expressing this view.
He added, "They shamelessly do not even know shame, mistakenly thinking the public will be deceived again," and said, "If Han Myeong-sook did not receive illegal political funds and the Supreme Court's guilty verdict is so unfair, she can apply for a retrial."
He continued, "Is it normal to recklessly destroy the judicial system like this for just one person, Han Myeong-sook?" and pointed out, "A privileged class existing above the law is being born in South Korea right now."
Meanwhile, addressing self-employed people facing difficulties such as business restrictions due to the resurgence of COVID-19, former Prosecutor General Yoon said, "Why is the government's attitude toward the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions' son-in-law different from its attitude of blocking self-employed people's protests with barricades?" and added, "There is a more important issue than whether to give 200,000 won to all citizens or 250,000 won to 80% of them."
He emphasized, "I hope the Democratic Party of Korea will significantly expand support measures for self-employed people facing a survival crisis before increasing the supplementary budget and chasing votes with nationwide disaster relief funds," and stressed, "I will raise my voice for the self-employed and small business owners who are crying out."
