[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] As confirmed cases surged in youth-dense facilities, Jinju City announced on the 12th that the special inspection conducted from the 7th to the 9th will be extended and carried out from the 11th to the 17th.

The city formed an inspection team composed of senior officials, including Deputy Mayor Shin Jong-woo, to check compliance with quarantine rules at 365 facilities such as live pubs, youth-dense establishments, and hof bars, which are mainly frequented by active young adults.

A city official stated, “If violations of quarantine guidelines occur, strict administrative measures will be taken, and according to government policy, the ‘One Strike Out System’ will be applied, which mandates a 10-day suspension of operations immediately upon the first violation.”

He added, “For serious violations such as neglecting quarantine responsibilities or causing the spread of infection, claims for damages and quarantine cost reimbursements may also be pursued,” emphasizing the importance of compliance with quarantine rules by operators and users of multi-use facilities.
