[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, is receiving great attention as it is promoting the ‘Pilot Project for Fostering Disaster-Safe Agricultural Villages’ targeting residents of Daejeong Village, Osu-myeon, to prevent agricultural work disasters and create a safe agricultural environment.
According to the county on the 12th, the pilot project for fostering disaster-safe agricultural villages provides comprehensive management support related to safety to prevent various disasters that may occur during agricultural work.
The purpose is to guarantee a safe rural life by improving factors that threaten the safety of rural villages and to enhance the ability to automatically practice safe behavior during agricultural work through safety education that presents actual cases and solutions.
Accordingly, protective equipment such as pesticide storage boxes to prevent accidents like pesticide misuse, dust masks, and anti-slip boots were distributed, and road mirrors and drainage pipe covers were installed in the village to improve risk factors exposed to farmers.
From today until the 9th of next month, a total of nine sessions of agricultural safety prevention education will be conducted.
Lecturer Song Myeonghee (Director of Jeonbuk Industrial Health Research Institute) was invited to conduct preventive education related to musculoskeletal disorders and tick-borne infectious diseases.
The county plans to produce agricultural work safety rule signboards and distribute them so that farmers can always see them in the future.
County Governor Shim Min said, “This project is expected to improve farmers’ awareness of agricultural work safety,” and added, “We will continue to provide support so that a safe and healthy agricultural work environment can be established.”
