Gyeongnam Province Reports 23 New COVID-19 Cases... Gimhae and Yangsan Raised to Level 2

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced that as of 1:30 PM on the 12th, 23 new confirmed cases occurred since 5 PM the previous day.

By region, there are 7 cases each in Gimhae and Changwon, 5 in Geoje, and 1 each in Jinju, Sacheon, Yangsan, and Namhae.

Among the 7 confirmed cases in Gimhae, 5 are related to a Gimhae entertainment bar cluster and were confirmed positive, classified as cases 5465~5468 and 5486. This brings the total number of confirmed cases related to the Gimhae entertainment bar to 49.

Two others are acquaintances of each other, confirmed positive and classified as cases 5469 and 5470.

Among the 7 confirmed cases in Changwon, 3 were confirmed positive after contact with confirmed cases within the province, classified as cases 5473, 5474, and 5476.

Two were contacts of confirmed cases from other regions and were confirmed positive, classified as cases 5477 and 5479.

One is an acquaintance of a confirmed case from the metropolitan area and was confirmed positive, classified as case 5480.

One was tested due to symptom onset and confirmed positive, classified as case 5487.

Among the 5 confirmed cases in Geoje, 2 were tested after symptom onset and confirmed positive, classified as cases 5472 and 5485.

One is a coworker of a confirmed case from the metropolitan area and was confirmed positive, classified as case 5482.

One was confirmed positive after contact with a confirmed case within the province, classified as case 5484.

Case 5484 was identified as a middle school student in Geoje. The health authorities tested 424 people including students and staff at the school.

The remaining one is an overseas entrant who was confirmed positive and classified as case 5483.

The single confirmed case in Jinju is related to a Jinju restaurant cluster and was confirmed positive, classified as case 5475.

The single confirmed case in Sacheon is a family member of a metropolitan area confirmed case, who developed symptoms during quarantine and was confirmed positive, classified as case 5471.

The single confirmed case in Yangsan is an acquaintance of a confirmed case within the province and was confirmed positive, classified as case 5481.

The single confirmed case in Namhae was confirmed positive after contact with a confirmed case within the province, classified as case 5478.

Accordingly, the total cumulative confirmed cases in the province have increased to 5,484 (292 hospitalized, 5,173 discharged, 19 deceased).

Meanwhile, due to the continuous increase in confirmed cases, Gimhae City and Yangsan City will adjust their social distancing levels to Level 2 from the 14th to the 25th and 27th, respectively.
