Boseong-gun Opens Korean Tea Museum Exhibition Space to Local Artists

Free Space Rental, Preparation Cost Support of 1 Million Won

[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Jeollanam-do Boseong-gun (Governor Kim Cheol-woo) announced on the 12th that it will carry out the ‘Korean Tea Museum Exhibition Space Sharing Project’ to revitalize the operation of the Korean Tea Museum and support the creative activities of artists active in the region.

If selected as an artist for the exhibition space sharing project, the planned exhibition hall within the Korean Tea Museum will be rented free of charge, and 1 million won will be provided as event expenses for exhibition preparation.

The recruitment of participating artists will be held for three days from the 21st to the 23rd, and the results are scheduled to be announced at the end of this month.

If selected as an exhibition candidate, the artist can exhibit their works in the planned exhibition room for 19 days.

Application forms can be downloaded from the announcement section on the county office website.

Application requirements are that the artist must be a local artist active in the county, a native artist, or a multi-disciplinary artist, and the exhibition genres include painting, sculpture, crafts, photography, calligraphy, literature, and video art.

Additionally, more than 30% of the works must be related to the theme of tea (cha).

The county expects that this exhibition space sharing project will serve as an opportunity to invigorate the artistic activities of local artists and provide residents and tourists with a chance to experience the 1,000-year history and culture of Boseong tea through art.

Meanwhile, the Korean Tea Museum celebrated its 10th anniversary, completed internal remodeling last April, and reopened. To innovate museum operations, it continues various attempts such as cooperating with local tea organizations and holding events inviting new public officials.
