[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Korea Cable Telecom (KCT) announced on the 12th that it has formed a strategic business partnership with CJ CGV.
Through video and image advertisements broadcasted nationwide in CGV theaters, KCT will promote its budget phone brand T Plus's mobile eSIM service, while CGV will provide KCT's access management service to moviegoers, allowing them to replace visitor log creation with a single phone call. Visitors can experience the T Plus eSIM service videos at nearby CGV theaters such as CGV Myeongdong, Sinchon, and Yongsan I'Park Mall.
T Plus marked the first anniversary of launching Korea's first mobile eSIM service this year. The mobile eSIM service allows multiple lines to be used simultaneously on a single phone by utilizing an embedded SIM without a separate physical chip. While eSIM services have already become widespread overseas, expectations for eSIM in the domestic mobile phone market are also growing.
Hong Donghwa, Head of Marketing Planning Team at KCT, said, "Through the business partnership with CGV, we demonstrated the excellence of KCT's access management service to customers," adding, "It greatly contributes to increasing brand familiarity of T Plus, which provides the mobile eSIM service, resulting in high satisfaction."
