[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suhwan] Colombian suspects identified as participants in the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Mo?se and arrested by local authorities reportedly told investigators that the assassination of the president was not part of the original plan.

According to the Miami Herald on the 11th (local time), the suspects in the assassination of President Mo?se told investigators that the original plan was to arrest the president at his residence and then take him to the presidential palace.

The media reported that the reason why they intended to transport President Mo?se to the presidential palace after arresting him has not been confirmed.

Additionally, the suspects reportedly told investigators that the two Americans arrested alongside them only served as interpreters.

According to their testimony, the interpreters arrived at the president’s residence to find that President Mo?se was already deceased.

Haitian authorities have not issued any specific statements regarding these reports.

The Miami Herald also reported that the Colombian suspects arrested by investigators claimed they were employed by a company called CTU Security, located in Miami.

This company is a security equipment manufacturer founded by Antonio Emmanuel Intriago Valera, an immigrant from Venezuela.

The media stated that they contacted CTU Security and Intriago to verify the suspects’ testimony but received no response.

Various social media accounts (SNS) such as Facebook and Instagram, reportedly owned by Intriago, contain photos of a man wearing a rifle and combat gear, as well as images of ammunition, firearms, and people undergoing combat training.

Earlier, in the early hours of the 7th, President Mo?se was shot and killed by gunmen who broke into his residence. A state of emergency has been declared in Haiti, and investigations are ongoing to uncover the exact masterminds behind the assassination, but so far, the motive and the groups behind the assassination remain unidentified.

Mrs. Martine Mo?se, the wife of President Mo?se, was also shot during the assassination and is currently receiving treatment in a hospital.
