[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] eBay Korea is strengthening its live commerce by expanding the broadcast of the real-time entertainment-style live show 'Jangsa-ui Sindong' to four times a month. Until now, the live broadcasts were mainly operated through Gmarket, but starting in August, they are preparing to simultaneously broadcast on both Gmarket and Auction.


Launched in May, eBay Korea's Jangsa-ui Sindong collaborates with CJ ENM to add entertainment elements, setting record-breaking performances with every episode since its debut. So far, it has sold products such as 'LG Objet Collection,' 'LF Hazzys,' 'Amorepacific Sulwhasoo,' and 'Samsung Electronics Bespoke,' achieving total sales of over 1.96 billion KRW through four broadcasts. The cumulative real-time viewership has reached 891,000.


In particular, the most recent Samsung Electronics live commerce broadcast recorded over 550,000 real-time views, marking the highest record in the history of Jangsa-ui Sindong. From 8 PM, when the discount benefits started, until midnight of the same day, the transaction amount reached 420 million KRW.


Encouraged by this response, eBay Korea will expand the number of Jangsa-ui Sindong broadcasts to four times a month starting this month. Of the four broadcasts, two will follow the existing format featuring Super Junior's Shindong, and the other two will be 'Jangsa-ui Sindong_Shin-ui Son,' with show host Lee Junho as the main MC, featuring various special guests.


Yoo Doo-ho, Head of Smile Marketing at eBay Korea, explained, "Due to requests from brands and customers to increase the number of episodes of Jangsa-ui Sindong, which has recorded record-breaking results with just four episodes, we plan to strengthen live commerce by launching a spin-off broadcast."


The first broadcast of Shin-ui Son will be on the 12th at 8 PM, featuring the beauty brand 'Dalba' exclusively on Gmarket. Show hosts Lee Junho and Choi Se-young will lead the program, with popular idol members participating as guests. They will offer eight products at special prices, including the so-called flight attendant mist 'White Truffle Mist,' 'Waterful Essence Sun Cream,' and 'Grinding Pact.' Discounts are available with a 20% coupon for the Fashion & Beauty Big Sale and up to a 15% coupon exclusive to the Dalba brand. Additionally, a 15% instant discount benefit with Samsung Card will be provided during the one-hour live broadcast.
