Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul Youth Center Dongdaemun Orang Operates 'AI·VR Interview Experience Program'

AI and VR Mock Interview Service Aligned with Recent Hiring Methods... Providing Real-Time Feedback and Post-Consulting

Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul Youth Center Dongdaemun Orang Operates 'AI·VR Interview Experience Program' A young person participating in the 'AI?VR Interview Experience Program' operated by the Seoul Youth Center Dongdaemun Orang is undergoing a VR interview.

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] With the advancement of artificial intelligence technology and the prolonged COVID-19 situation, companies are recently expanding AI interviews that enable unbiased and transparent interviews as well as untact (contactless) interview methods.

Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) is quickly responding to these changing recruitment methods and operating the ‘AI·VR Interview Experience Program’ at the Seoul Youth Center Dongdaemun Orang for about six months until December to support young job seekers who are having difficulties adapting to the new recruitment environment.

The AI interview uses a webcam to conduct basic interviews, aptitude tests, in-depth interviews, situational interviews, and strategy game tasks, with a duration of about 60 minutes.

About three days after the interview, personalized result analysis and the interview video are sent via email.

The VR interview is conducted mockingly using VR devices. Participants can choose to receive skill and interview speech training, watch BEST and WORST interview case examples, and undergo interview training (eye contact, voice volume, answer length, speaking speed, etc.) before the mock interview.

Participants can select their desired company and job category to conduct the mock interview. The duration is about 60 minutes, and after the experience, they can check real-time feedback on eye contact, average answer length, voice volume, and answer speed. To assist self-study, participants are also provided with interview result analysis sheets and audio recordings.

Additionally, for follow-up management, depending on the interview results and satisfaction survey of the youth who participated in the program, related employment lectures, consulting, and special Q&A lectures on interviews will be linked and supported.

This program operates three times a day from Monday to Friday (11 AM?1 PM / 2?4 PM / 5?7 PM) and twice a day on Saturdays (11 AM?1 PM / 2?4 PM) until December. Any youth under 39 years old active in Dongdaemun-gu can apply. Participation is completely free of charge.

Youth who wish to participate in the program can refer to the Seoul Youth Center website or contact Dongdaemun Orang or the Job Policy Division of Dongdaemun-gu Office.

Meanwhile, the district operates the program while adhering to quarantine measures such as ventilating the space for one hour and thoroughly disinfecting devices after the program ends.

Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, said, “Through the AI·VR Interview Experience Program, I hope young people quickly adapt to the employment situation changed by COVID-19 and succeed in job seeking,” and added, “We will continue to discover various programs that provide practical help to young job seekers preparing for employment.”
