[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Dongseo University is stepping into the 'First-Time Youth Startup' support project.
Dongseo University announced on the 7th that it has been selected as the host institution for the '2021 First-Time Youth Startup Support Project' in recognition of the achievements of the Startup Leading University Development Project and the Early Startup Package it has carried out over the past five years.
The First-Time Youth Startup Support Project, hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, is a program that supports startup funds, business mentoring, networking, and more for entrepreneurs in their 20s. It selected 10 universities in 7 regions nationwide as host institutions in the early startup sector. Dongseo University was the only one selected in the Southeast region.
This first-time startup support program was prepared with the purpose of helping promising young entrepreneurs experience their first startup process and develop their capabilities by utilizing commercialization funds.
The support target is early-stage startup companies less than one year old and under 29 years of age, with a maximum support amount of 20 million KRW.
In addition, it provides opportunities to form empathy with young entrepreneurs, solve difficulties through networking with senior young entrepreneurs, and receive practical startup experience.
Outstanding startups participating in this program will be exempt from document evaluation when applying for the 2022 Early Startup Package project.
Since 2020, Dongseo University has been selected for the Early Startup Package support project (Ministry of SMEs and Startups), the Laboratory Startup Leading University project (Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science and ICT), and the Maker Space establishment and operation project (Ministry of SMEs and Startups), completing a full-cycle startup support platform that connects the achievements of startup education to actual startups.
Centered on the specialized 'Startup Support Platform,' it provides programs such as All-Set consulting, LEGO Startup Academy, and practical startup education, and offers one-stop startup support services through the on-campus Dream. E. Vally startup incubation center space for resident companies, technology-intensive startup base, and untact video conferencing platform established as a startup support hub.
Jung Do-woon, head of the Startup Support Group, said, "We will strive to support and nurture promising young entrepreneurs to lead successful startups through the startup support platform, and take on the role of a hub for startup activation and growth support."
Youth startup representatives wishing to participate in the '2021 First-Time Youth Startup' can apply online through the K-Startup website by 4 p.m. on July 20.
