[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Ayum Co., Ltd., a real estate development company affiliated with Fly Gangwon, announced on the 7th that it has completed a contract with the global hotel and resort group Capella to promote the 'Capella Yangyang' development project.
Founded in 2004, Capella currently operates seven hotels and resorts in six countries including Singapore, China, Bali, Thailand, and Vietnam. Capella Singapore is widely known as the venue for the North Korea?United States summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean State Affairs Commission Chairman Kim Jong-un in June 2018.
Approximately KRW 500 billion will be invested to develop the resort on a 55,677㎡ site near Songjeon Beach in Yangyang, Gangwon Province, in 2024. 'Capella Yangyang' will be the first 6-star global brand resort in Yangyang, Gangwon Province.
An official from Ayum Co., Ltd. said, “Location, natural environment, and the development of domestic and international transportation networks play a major role in hotel brands entering the market. Fly Gangwon, an airline based at Yangyang International Airport, played a significant role in creating synergy with ‘Capella Yangyang.’”
With Ayum Co., Ltd., an affiliate of Fly Gangwon, attracting the 6-star resort ‘Capella Yangyang,’ Fly Gangwon, based at Yangyang International Airport, is expected to gain momentum in management through the convergence of aviation and tourism.
Fly Gangwon plans to operate international flights to Japan, China, Southeast Asia, Russia, and domestic flights to Jeju, Daegu, and Gimpo by 2023, in line with the recovery to normal life after COVID-19.
