The Corruption Investigation Office Receives 20 Additional Police Investigators Dispatched

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] The High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Unit (Gong-su-cheo) has received additional investigators dispatched from the police.

On the 6th, Gong-su-cheo announced that it had reinforced its team with 20 newly dispatched police investigators. The dispatch period is six months, and together with the existing 14 dispatched personnel, they will return to the police in January next year.

As a result, more than half of the Gong-su-cheo investigators are now former police officers. Out of a total of 62 members, 34 (55%) are police dispatches, 18 (29%) are hired directly, and 10 (16%) are dispatched from the prosecution.

Including 13 prosecutors, excluding the head and deputy head, the total number of Gong-su-cheo investigative personnel reached 75 as of this day.

Among the 10 prosecution-origin investigators whose dispatch period expires this month, 4 will remain at Gong-su-cheo. Two will transfer to Gong-su-cheo from other units, and two will extend their dispatch period by six months.

Six will return to the prosecution, but three additional investigators will be dispatched from the prosecution in mid-next month. Their dispatch period will also be six months.
