[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] The Social Customized Industry-Academia Cooperation Leading University Development Project Group (hereinafter LINC+ Project Group, Director Lee Sang-chan) at Mokpo National University (President Park Min-seo) announced on the 5th that it participated in the 3rd Korea Social Economy Expo held from the 2nd to the 4th at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center in Gwangju Metropolitan City as a member of the Social Economy University Council.
The Social Economy University Council was formed in 2019 by universities participating in LINC+ (Leaders in INdustry-university Cooperation+) supported by the Ministry of Education to promote social value enhancement and activation of the social economy through industry-academia cooperation. Currently, 31 universities nationwide, including Mokpo National University, are participating.
At this expo, the 31 member universities exhibited their social economy activities carried out individually, such as nurturing social economy talents, contributing to strengthening the competitiveness of social economy organizations, and establishing industry-academia cooperation cooperatives.
Lee Sang-chan, Director of Mokpo National University LINC+ Project Group, conveyed the significance of participation, stating, “It is a very important task for each university to commonly consider and find implementation plans to activate the social economy aimed at solving regional issues and creating social value.”
Before participating in the expo, the Mokpo National University LINC+ Project Group held a practical meeting of the regional industry-academia-civil-government council for the activation of the social economy in Jeonnam on the 25th of last month at the Jeonnam Social Economy Integrated Support Center to promote social economy activation. They are also seeking ways to cooperate with and revitalize local social enterprises through various program plans such as the ‘Social Economy Activation UCC Contest.’
