[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Seven Eleven announced on the 5th that it has launched a convenient health food product called ‘Whole Chicken Drumstick Noodles’ ahead of the upcoming Chobok (the first of the three hottest days in summer).
Whole Chicken Drumstick Noodles is a health food product created in collaboration with Lotte Central Research Institute and Professor Han Young-sil’s Customized Food Research Institute. It contains a large whole domestic chicken drumstick.
The broth is made by simmering chicken bones and various vegetables to create a rich and deep flavor, and it is served with chewy noodles for a hearty meal. To prevent the noodles from becoming soggy and to avoid leakage during distribution, the broth was developed in a gelatin solidified form. Simply add water and microwave to easily enjoy the chicken drumstick noodles.
They also launched watermelon, a representative summer fruit. They sell five types including honey watermelons selected for their high sweetness of over 11 brix, cut watermelons for single-person households called ‘NahonjameogeulsupakAe’, small-sized apple watermelons, and multiple watermelons.
Seven Eleven is holding a ‘Gye(i)deuk Promotion’ this month, offering a 30% instant discount when paying with Nonghyup or Hana Card on 14 chicken-related products such as Samgyetang, chicken, and chicken breast. They also offer a 30% discount on five types of Chobok watermelons including apple watermelon and honey watermelon when paying with Lotte or Hana Card.
A Seven Eleven representative said, “It is common to eat warm-natured foods like chicken during the three hottest days to replenish energy,” and added, “We hope you stay healthy and cool this hot season with products that capture both nutrition and taste.”
