[Asia Economy (Seoul) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] An exhibition featuring artists from over 40 countries around the world, held in the form of fundraising to support Myanmar's democratization movement and activists, is attracting attention in Seoul.

Golden Hands Friends Art (GHF Art) is hosting the exhibition "Raise Three Fingers! Artistic Solidarity for Myanmar Democracy" from the 1st to the 10th of this month at Sinmunro Building B1-1, 12 Saemunan-ro 3-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul.

This exhibition holds special significance as it provides an opportunity to witness the resistance movement of Myanmar artists for democracy and the solidarity and support from artists in over 40 countries worldwide through their artworks.

The event features numerous works by Myanmar artists who printed images uploaded on the "Raise Three Fingers" platform despite internet blackouts and repression by the Myanmar military.

Additionally, works voluntarily submitted in print form by global artists such as Badiucao and Kok Damon, who support and stand in solidarity with Myanmar's democratization struggle, are showcased.

In particular, the organizers are also selling artworks to support "Mutual Aid Myanmar," a group of Myanmar democratization activists, scholars, and policymakers. The exhibited works are available for purchase starting at $15 (16,000 KRW).

"Raise Three Fingers" is a campaign established by artists and creators to highlight Myanmar's human rights and humanitarian crisis following the military coup in February this year and to foster solidarity within the global art community. The gesture of raising three fingers symbolizes resistance against violence as well as a call for and support of democratization solidarity.

Jung Hyun-joo, an independent curator (PhD in Philosophy), stated, "From the formation of 'Raise Three Fingers' to exhibitions in Gwangju, Sydney, and Seoul, voluntary cooperation and action by many people hoping for peace and democracy in Myanmar have quietly taken place everywhere like water flowing to low places," adding, "I hope this exhibition will bring comfort and a small strength to the people of Myanmar who are suffering greatly from violence and loss."

Meanwhile, this Seoul exhibition is the third following the Gwangju "Gallery Podonamu" and Sydney "Art Syndicate." GHF Art is also preparing for an upcoming exhibition in London.
