From July 1 to the end of October, a dynamic music fountain show unfolds at Danghyeoncheon... Familiar and exciting music and visuals bring fun and refreshment to midsummer nights... Danghyeon 1-gyo Media Glass installation offers diverse and unique attractions
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Nowon-gu (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) will start the ‘Danghyeoncheon Music Fountain Performance’ from July 1st to enhance the joy of walking as the summer season begins in earnest.
The music fountain performance in front of Nowon Math Culture Center will be held every evening for 20 minutes from July to October, except Mondays. The performance starts at 8:30 PM in July and August when the heat peaks, 8 PM in September, and 7 PM in October.
The music fountain performance, which debuted last August, gained popularity as a unique outdoor attraction for residents. The water jets, shooting through 303 nozzles across a width of 20.5m and a height of 5.5m, add dynamism to the fountain show. When the water jets soar up to 25m high, residents respond with refreshing cheers, bringing the atmosphere to a climax.
Especially this year, the program has been diversified to allow enjoyment of different songs six days a week. The selection includes songs that all generations can enjoy together, such as Beom Naeryeonda, Dooly, and Banana Chacha, and the dazzling visuals displayed on the water screen are expected to captivate the audience.
At the end of the performance, a video featuring Nowon-gu residents’ rhythmic movements to the music ‘Bba Bba Bba’ is screened, adding special meaning. The video, filmed at Nowon-gu landmarks such as Gyeongchun Line Hwarangdae Park and Bulamsan Healing Town, captures the cheerful faces of our neighbors, enhancing the viewing pleasure.
Additionally, the music fountain operates without music or video every hour for 20 minutes from 11 AM to 7 PM daily, providing residents with a refreshing experience.
The floor fountain in front of Seongseo University is also very popular. Operating since June, it runs every day from 11 AM to 8 PM until September, for 30 minutes every hour. During the day, it serves as a resting space for residents tired of the heat, and at night, it offers a visual treat to walkers with various colorful lights.
The newly installed media glass on the Danghyeoncheon Bridge also draws attention. Located at Danghyeon 1 Bridge between Baek Hospital and Junggye Station, the media glass measures 32m wide and 1.1m high. It will be fully operational from July, with operating hours from sunset until 10 PM.
From video art blending with the riverside scenery such as Summer, Lake, and Flower, to diverse video content like Broadway, Dreamer, and Angel Wing, it will provide residents with visual enjoyment.
Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, “I hope residents enjoy the fun of walking along our neighborhood’s ecological stream with various attractions and improve their physical and mental health.”
