[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] CJ Freshway, a CJ Group company specializing in food ingredient distribution and group catering, announced on the 28th that it signed a business agreement on the 25th at the CJ Freshway Busan branch training center with Jeongjik Yubu, operated by Chae Jeong-yi, regarding food ingredient supply and mutual growth.
The signing ceremony, held under quarantine measures, was attended by key representatives from both companies, including Han Cheong-hee, Head of Southern SU at CJ Freshway Sales Headquarters, and Jo Hyun-hong, CEO of Jeongjik Yubu.
Jeongjik Yubu is a yubu sushi brand that first opened in 2017 near the back gate of Pukyong National University. Its signature menu includes Egg Yubu, Bulgogi Yubu, Tuna Mayo Yubu, as well as popular side dishes like Sesame Chicken Noodles and Jeongjik Udon.
Currently, it operates 67 stores in the Busan and Gyeongnam regions. Since the first half of this year, as franchise stores have expanded nationwide, it partnered with CJ Freshway to provide stable food ingredient supply and reduce menu preparation time, thereby offering practical management support to franchisees.
Under this agreement, CJ Freshway will serve as a partner for Jeongjik Yubu’s nationwide franchise expansion by supplying fresh and safe ingredients promptly through a stable logistics network. Additionally, CJ Freshway plans to focus on its role as a mutual growth partner by supporting the development of various menus to expand new regional franchise stores.
