[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] High school student Kim Hweseong, who went missing on the 22nd, was found dead in a mountain forest seven days after his disappearance.
The Bundang Police Station in Gyeonggi announced on the 28th at 6:33 a.m. that Kim's body was discovered near a mountain trail close to the main gate of Saemaeul Training Center in Bundang-gu, Seongnam City.
No external injuries suggesting homicide were found on the body. Additionally, no suicide note or similar documents were discovered.
The police are focusing on the possibility that Kim took his own life. A police official stated, "There is no evidence of external force exerted by others, and no wounds have been found, so we currently presume that Kim made an extreme choice."
The police plan to confirm the exact cause of death by requesting an autopsy from the National Forensic Service after obtaining consent from the bereaved family.
