Park Hong-geun, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea known as a close aide to Governor Lee, told the media on the 27th, "Governor Lee will register as a Democratic Party preliminary candidate on the 30th and declare his candidacy via video on the morning of July 1st."

However, the specific time and method of the presidential bid declaration will be announced later.
