People Power Party Debate Battle 'Quarterfinals Confirmed'... [Asia Economy Reporter Kum Bo-ryeong] Eight candidates have been selected to become spokespersons for the People Power Party.


On the 27th, the results of the round of 16 in the debate battle "I am a National Representative," which selects the People Power Party spokesperson team, saw Kim Min-gyu (born 2003), Kim Yeon-ju (born 1966), Min Seong-hoon (born 1987), Shin In-gyu (born 1986), Yang Jun-woo (born 1995), Lim Seung-ho (born 1994), Hwang Gyu-hwan (born 1981), and Hwang In-chan (born 1997) advance to the quarterfinals.


High school senior Kim Min-gyu, former announcer Kim Yeon-ju, Yang Jun-woo who rode on the campaign vehicle during Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon's election, and former full-time deputy spokesperson of the People Power Party Hwang Gyu-hwan advanced to the quarterfinals, while lawyer Jang Cheon who appeared on Channel A's "Heart Signal" and Yang Gi-yeol, a member of the Eunpyeong District Council, were eliminated.


The debate topics of the day were "Free subway rides for those aged 65 and over" and "Nationwide distribution of the 5th disaster relief fund." The 16 candidates were divided into four teams of four to compete in the debate battle.


Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, said, "The change promised by the People Power Party through this party convention is to create opportunities for capable and willing ordinary citizens to contribute to and participate in politics," adding, "I hope this becomes a new system that can give hope to many people in the Republic of Korea watching the debate."


The debate battle will continue with the quarterfinals on the 30th and the finals on the 5th of next month. The top two scorers will serve as spokespersons, and the other two will serve as full-time deputy spokespersons.
