[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] It has been six days since 3rd-year Seohyeon High School student Kim Hweseong from Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province went missing, and although the police continued their search over the weekend, they have yet to find any significant clues.

The Bundang Police Station in Seongnam has deployed about 180 riot police, helicopters, drones, and search fire dogs to conduct search operations around Bundang Yuldong Park, Saemaeul Training Center, and Cheoneun Jeongsa Temple starting from 10 a.m. on the 27th. Following the previous day's search of the central park and hills near Kim’s residence with 54 riot police and equipment, the police expanded the search area to include Seohyeon Station, where Kim was last captured on CCTV, and his residential area.

From late afternoon, rain began to fall, leading to a partial reduction in search personnel. However, the police plan to continue nighttime searches within feasible limits.

Kim went missing after leaving school at around 4:40 p.m. on the 22nd. He purchased a book at a bookstore near Seohyeon Station and then moved to a bus stop, after which he has been missing. Records show that Kim recharged his transportation card after school, but there have been no records of transportation card or credit card usage since then. It is reported that Kim left his mobile phone at school on the day he went missing, making location tracking impossible.

The police have collected all black box footage from buses that stopped at the bus stop where Kim was last seen and are currently analyzing the videos. However, poor image quality is making it difficult to identify individuals.
