Lowest Price 5G Phone 'Galaxy A22' Launch Imminent... India Launch Price Revealed

[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Eun-mo] The 'Galaxy A22 5G,' expected to be the most affordable model among Samsung Electronics' 5G smartphones released this year, is set to launch soon in the Indian market.

According to IT specialist media 91mobiles on the 26th (local time), the Galaxy A22 with 6 gigabytes (GB) of RAM and 16GB of storage is expected to be priced at 18,499 rupees (approximately 280,000 KRW) in India.

Samsung Electronics will release the Galaxy A22 5G and LTE models worldwide starting this summer. Previously, Samsung announced the UK market price at 199 euros (approximately 270,000 KRW), and domestically, LG Uplus plans to launch the 5G model in the second half of the year. So far, the most affordable 5G smartphone released in Korea is the 'Galaxy Jump' (retail price 399,300 KRW), which KT introduced last month as an exclusive model.

The Galaxy A22 5G features a 6.6-inch FHD+ Infinity-V display supporting a 90 hertz (Hz) refresh rate. The application processor (AP) is equipped with the MediaTek Helio G80, with RAM options of 4GB or 6GB and storage capacities of 64GB and 128GB. The battery is 5000 milliampere-hours (mAh) and supports 15-watt (W) fast charging.

The camera setup on the rear includes a triple camera consisting of a 48-megapixel (F1.8) wide-angle, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Using the 48-megapixel camera sensor, it can also record 4K videos. On the front, an 8-megapixel selfie camera is housed within a V-shaped screen notch.
